Worm Farm

Room 3 have been partically interested about worm farms after a reading group read about earth worms and what they eat. We also read an article about a boy who made a worm farm out of a 3L juice bottle.

We looked at Room 4's worm farm to look at the different layers that worm farms have.

Mrs Allison went to Central Worm Works and got some Tiger worms off Robbie
To make our worm farms:

First we filled half the bottle with potting mix.

Next George put about 10 worms on top of the potting mix.

Then we put more potting mix over the worms.
Robbie from Worm Works told Mrs Allison to feed the worms in one corner of the container so the worms can come up and get the food.
We made covers out of newspaper to keep the worms in the dark.

Here's a list of the things we can and can't feed our worms.
