Hi everyone,

Week 2 of I-time

Another successful week of I-time with Room 6 and 7. Here's a few examples of our learning.

Orange peel experiment

We wrote predictions of which orange would float. Unpeeled or peeled.

I predict that the unpeeled one will float because it is waterproof and the skin makes it float. Sam C

I predict that the one without the skin would float because it is the lightest. Max

I predict the one that is peeled because it is airtight. Mica

The peeled one sank. The un peeled floated because the skin acts as a life jacket to make it float. We also tried just orange peel and it floated.

Co-operative learning

Each Friday we have been doing co-operative learning activities. The groups are randomly made. Each person has a role. This week we had to work as a team to make the ping pong ball travel through the tubes.

 

Observational Drawing

We looked closely at shells.
We held our pencils in the side like artists do.
We shaded the lighter and darker parts of the shells.
