We had our first attempt at being Foley artists today. We watched the below clip and made sound to go with a nature video clip.

Measurement

This week we have been learning to measure using 1 meter rulers. Learning how long 1 meter is will help us understand how far athletes throw etc in the Olympics. On Thursday Room 7 had a paper plane competition and measured how far each plane flew.

 

 

Holiday writing

One sunny afternoon, me and my family went on a trip to Timaru Creek. While Mum and Lachy picked up pine cones Dad and I pulled skids on the beach. We left the beach and headed towards the gate. As soon as we reached the gate we heard a Broom! Broom! What was it? A car? “It’s Mum” I said. We went down the hill. I was right. Mum got stuck in a big icy puddle with a trailer on. She was wheel spinning. Half of her car was covered in mud. “Oh Mum! You’ve busted your car!” We had a plan. But before that, Dad called Mum a ‘Moron’. The plan was to lift the car up with a long piece of wood. We did just that. That didn't work, but luckily a farmer came. He pulled from behind, he saved us.

Hi Room7 it looks like you have put some more photos on the blog.It"s so so so so so so so so so so so so hot in the summer.Today we went to the Beach the sand is hot and the water is warmish and I love it.Mum and Dad got an iphone and we are looking for a car. Mums got a new computer.The Tv is very big. Our rooms are very hot and in me and Rowans room we have a heater.

End of Term Assembly

Both the junior music group and senior music group were great. A lot of practice went into both these items and it really shows.
