Rio 2016

Room 8 provided an in-depth discussion around this video clip. There were many thought provoking ideas and reasons provided by Room 8 to share why there are parts of Rio that the Government and Mayor.

I am angry that the rich people were so selfish. There was a community government and the rich people said that 'we will let you leave or we will boot you out!' Gabe

I am sad because with all of the extra money they should have helped the poor people instead of kicking them out. Charlotte.

I feel angry at the rich because they are not helping the poor and the parents can't help their family live properly because the rich destroyed their homes. They had fruit trees but now they have to replant them all. Isabella

I feel sad because the poor people didn't want to move and they made there houses their own and now they are kicked out. Kate

Well done to the Kapa Haka group!

Our amazing Kapa Haka group represented our school at the Polyfest in Invercargill last week.

Printmaking

After a few cut fingers we created some lovely Olympic inspired prints.

Geometric artwork

Local artist Bridget Hall inspired Room 8 to create our geometric artworks. We thought carefully about 'kiwi/ New Zealand' icons and created lovely artworks to show what it means to be New Zealanders.
